Saturday 24th September 2011. Loudhailer at the Cafe Bar…into the sun.

Thursday 1st September 2011.  We had a great night playing at Off the Road at the Duke of Cumberland in Cottingham.  We especially enjoyed all the other acts. We loved Salbo Baggins’ fabulous piano songs; Ted Key & GT Taylor entertained us, and Biri’s set was cool. Thank you to the Off the Road team, Jayne, Bill and Grant.

Sunday 3rd July 2011.  Thanks to Alan Raw and the BBC Introducing crew for having us on the show.  We enjoyed catching up with Alan who played drums in the Angel 6 Quartet at Grassroots, and guested on djembe and rainstick on the Gamelan Heron recordings.  We played a couple of songs – On the Run and My Fantastic Past.

Before that we incubated Loudhailer at Atkinson’s Cafe Bar -

Loudhailer Road Movie Show

Our Road Movie gig showcased our set of Brautigan/Shepard/Niatum influenced Road Songs to a backdrop of Jim Jarmusch’s  minimalist b/w movie ‘Stranger than Paradise’, starring jazz saxophonist John Lurie, former Sonic Youth drummer Richard Edson and Eszter Balint. We played to the exploits of Willie, his friend Eddie and Hungarian cousin Eva as they hit the road from New York to Cleveland and down to Florida.

Tom Kay played an excellent support set and Corey C-H joined us for Dead Man.

Saturday 12th February 2011
Loudhailer Drones and Holograms SciFi Show

Resistance was Futile

Bladerunner set the scene for the first half, and 2001 Space Odyssey for the second set.  We wrote some new songs for our SciFi gig; Drones & Holograms, Bladerunner and The Time Traveller. Most people chose Hologram over Drone – maybe fearful of assimilation – but as usual, resistance was futile.

Sunday March 6th 2011
Venturing slightly further afield, we  supported Gordon Giltrap at the Arts Festival.  Lucifer’s Cage was something and we all had pie & peas.

Saturday March 19th 2011
Another Arts Festival outing, this one without pie but with drama.

Friday May 6th 2011
We played two live songs – Brewin’ Up and Vertigo (version II) on James Hoggarth’s BBC Radio show.

Saturday May 7th 2011
Loudhailer Songs and Stories Show
Back at Atkinson’s for our Songs and Stories gig, supported by Corey C-H and with a backdrop of the ever (r)evolving art collaboration, Infinite Oz.
