Andy White is brilliant! Rich & I have loved his music since his first album, Rave On, back in 1986, so we were thrilled to promote his gig here in Hull at the lovely venue, Kardomah94. And what a fabulous evening it was.  Andy played two storming sets full of gems right through from his first hit, Religious Persuasion, to requests from the audience including Everybody Wants Somebody the closing track on his brand new album, Imaginary Lovers. Originally from Belfast and now living in Melbourne, Andy entertained us with story-songs of his travels and the people he’s met along the way. He’s a superb wordsmith with a box set full of terrific catchy tunes and the knack of expressing his intelligent tales and sometimes challenging messages with a gentle charm.

Chris Heron, our Loudhailer Electric Company violinist, opened the show with a solo set of his own compositions and arrangements. Chris created towering cathedrals of sounds on his loop station improvising layers of guitar, violins and vocals.  What a wonderful night all round.

Andy is touring his new album and 12 CD box set, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of Rave On. Check it out here

Special thanks to Mal Scott at Kardomah94,  Matt Lund for a fab sound and the lovely audience – great vibe.
