Thanks to everyone who came to kick the new year off into 2019 at Loudhailer Acoustic. We’re into our ninth year of Loudhailer Acoustic nights now and it was a lovely night as ever. Super entertaining performances,. highlights including Gifford Rolfe with a lovely new song, Joan Foye’s haunting Americana, Catherine Scott’s terrific unexpected delivery, Dez Alleby’s exceptional Travellers Tales with Jeff Parsons’s fine guitar accompaniment, Roy Kibbler’s thought provoking word wit, Jeff Parsons’ and Paul Mooney’s Bazouki and guitar early Velvet Underground Mystified, great to welcome Phil Friend back with a lovely evocative winter set, Martin Peirson’s 60% indie folk songs , Brian Williams groovy blues harp and Jim Orwin’s first live pairing of Gypsyville Girls and Boulevard Boys.
Jim has been a regular at the acoustic night for a long time now, and never fails to mesmerise us with his beautifully crafted songs and poetic lyrics, so we are delighted that his book of lyrics is now published by Dancing Sisters.
