Big high five to Andy Richardson of Freetownway Productions for putting on a brilliant night in Hull last night. Bob Wayne & His Outlaw Carnies rocked the joint.
Leading lights in the modern outlaw underground country movement, rebel and proud, Bob’s world is one of truckers, demon wrestling cowboys and wronged lovers and they stormed it. Bob’s band, awesome stand up slap rhythm bass and drums, telecaster and steel guitar and a bunch of brilliant hillbilly songs. If you’ve ever seen the superb Heartworn Highways with David Allan Coe, Townes Van Zandt and Steve Earle add to it a high energy road trip and a wicked sense of humour and you’ll get the drift.
Howlin Bones were a perfect opener for Bob and the band. We had a brilliant night topped off by a good catch up with a bunch of friends. Hell Yeah!
