This is Agent Starling’s new single, Princess Julia, from forthcoming album, ‘Constellation of Birds’ released 25th February 2022.
Agent Starling explain: “Most of our songs start with the hurdy-gurdy tune, but this one began with a bass line – the two takes chopped up looked like a Battenberg cake. That was when it became a fairy story about Princess Julia. Add the hurdy-gurdy and a smattering of samples, found sounds, manipulated synths and beats and it was a tune to dance around the room to. Time to add the story. Layered vocals and harmonies tell the imaginary tale of royal pretender Princess Julia and her secret.”
