I’ve been out of action gig wise for a while. But we’ll be back soon. In the meantime I’ve recorded a new Loudhailer track, ‘View From Ward 6’, and made this video. If you watch it, thanks, hope you like it. I like that it has a good, positive ending.
Read my interview for MusicLoveMusic about the backstory to the track here: https://musiclovemusic.com/music-from-adversity-loudhailer-unveil-view-from-ward-6/

The magnifying glass of night points sharp red arrows at the greatest fears I bury under songs; recordings, illustrated with memories of where we’ve been, or, other people’s ideas, from long ago.
The window view of city life from high up here where night drives by, where people live in town and bay, and stop and leave, be home by day, or when it’s dark, return and fly, blurred or stark, be born and die, cold or hot, in real time, asleep or not, til morning chime.
The magnifying glass of night makes scary monsters dance up close, poke fun at diversion techniques to get me through until it’s light.
Up here distorted space and time stretches out for miles and hours and free, I kick the night away and see, it’s anaesthetic, drip IV, not me.
The window view of night where monstrous thoughts seek someone else, I wouldn’t wish them on – but go away, I’ll fly from here and looking down at cars still zipping through my veins, still coursing through flashing lights greens and reds, my dreams infected by the meds that flush my blood, distort my thoughts.
This doesn’t happen in my plan.
No, I’m not scared. These night fears aren’t so real at all. This isn’t me up here tonight, it’s someone else who sinks into the waffled sheets. Blocks out the shouting, bells, alarms, moaning, footsteps rustle, tap tap fussle yap yap, hussle, rap rap.
100, 93, 86, 79, 72, 65, 58, 51, 44, 37, 30, 23, 16, 8, 2, minus 5, minus more, minus less, minor sore, dinosaur.
Zennor, Yak Yak, Xerxes, Windyway, Virus, Travis, Stenton, Rollaway, Queeniococo, Palindrome, Overture, Newtalk, Micropore, Lenton, Knife more, Jaywalk, Indigo, Hierarch, Greengage, Federal, Empathy, Dancers, Calibrate, Beveral, Another day another night, start again, part alight.
Tap a beat, slow it down, parody parody paradiddle, parody parody paradiddle, parody parody paradiddle, parody parody paradiddle …
Sure, I’ll live another day, see more adventures come this way. And when it’s light and disappears, I’ll be out there, not trapped up here.
Then through the magnifying glass of day, I’ll walk out tall and right away, I’ll turn and kick the mist up high, see the world a different sky. Turn and kick the mist away, see the world a different way.
I rise above the heartbeat tune, my spirits fly and catch the moon, then looking down what used to be, the best of times, the worst of times, the memory of the safety net of comfort blanket, warm and wet.
Nothing to do, but wait and watch, watch and wait, wait and watch, watch and wait, another day, another night falls down
A way to heal, a way to knit, a way to leave here, bit by bit, and better get, and letter signed, the world outside this bubble find, the wolves turn into cockapoos, all cock a hoop to see the news that nothing festers any longer, cast me out to mend the fender, soon the sore and stitched up skin, to watch it clear, to take a car away from here, to ride that train, to skate that patch, let’s drink to that one, down the hatch.
