Loudhailer Acoustic November 2017

Thanks to everyone who came to the penultimate Loudhailer Acoustic of 2017. Fab night with loads of ace live music, a great audience and vibe. Always great to welcome new and familiar faces. It was especially good to welcome back Cowboy DC with his full country bluegrass band Work in Progress. Cowboy was one of the first people who came to play at Loudhailer Acoustic when we started out at the cafe back in 2011 and since then he’s put together a storming band playing originals and classics that gets feet stomping and people singing along. Here they are, Kelvin, Cowboy, Dexter on fiddle, Sophie and Lewis.

Loudhailer Acoustic Nov 2017 Work in Progress

Great to welcome Stuart Dainty for the first time with two lovely thoughtful original songs Calling an Angel and Lost and Found. Jeff Parsons was especially sartorially striking as he took to the stage to perform his slide guitar Loud Shirts with aplomb, balanced by his reflective seasonal song Man from Galilee. Poet Catherine Scott treated us to a wicket spoken word set closing with her Hull monologue in the style of the Lion and Albert, a story to heed next time you visit The Deep. Sam Hollis’s songs took us round the world, starting with a true adventure in Moscow followed by a story of Mount Everest. Lovely to welcome Lewis and Sophie to Loudhailer Acoustic with beautiful vocals and guitar songs. Spoken wordsmith Roy Kibbler opened his set with his wistful poem for leaving home followed by a fine four part set, Old, New, Borrowed and most gloriously Blue. Our Back Room host Paul Sutton closed the show in style, a fab night all round.  Thanks to everyone who came along.
