Loudhailer Electric Company + Goodnight Vincent
Loudhailer Electric Company are delighted to announce their first hometown gig of the year. The band will showcase their original psychedelic sounds at O’Rileys on Friday December 10th, doors 7.30 pm. We’re looking forward to our special guests Goodnight Vincent who will open the show with their high energy indie-folk.
Loudhailer Electric Company have a big history on the psychedelic and original Indie scene, featuring Lou Duffy-Howard of Indie chart toppers Red Guitars and Jeff Parsons of post punk guitar band Dead Fingers Talk. The line-up is completed by spoken word poetry wordsmith Richard Duffy-Howard and drummer Dave Burnby who is preparing for his first Hull show with the band. Known for their soaring guitar based songs the band are preparing a set of new and live favourites telling spirited stories of science fiction, road movies and fairy tales.
Dave explained, “It’s a huge privilege and a great pleasure to be working with Loudhailer Electric Company not least because I’ve always been a big fan. It’s a big challenge working with musicians of such a high calibre and living up to the standards of my predecessors. I’m pleased with the outcome and am very much looking forward to our first local gig together on December 10th.”
Rich added, “We’re especially pleased to be playing at O’Rileys, it’s a great live music venue with a big stage and excellent sound and lights, so we’re going to have some fun.”
What to expect!
“Loudhailer Electric Company transported us at mach speed into a frenzied flurry of colour and psychedelia that was gobsmacking. Led by the tiny whirlwind of energy that was Lou Duffy-Howard, this spunky rock group owned every note they played. Jeff Parsons on electric guitar rivalled Jimi Hendrix with his virtuosity, the intricacies and timing was second to none, with personality and life oozing out of every chord. The trippy songwriting made for a vivid and moving journey through this wormhole of sound. Their performance left me utterly blown away, only able at the end, to piece together the few words I could muster, announcing to my mother, “That was f***ing awesome!” Arthur Whelan, Hull is This
