Red Guitars UK Tour 2023: Birmingham O2 Academy

A massive thank you to everyone who has commented with lovely messages of support on our Red Guitars blog and social media posts following our recent news. We are truly heart warmed by your response. And thanks for loads of great, and funny ideas, all welcome!

When the relationship with our former singer started to break down again after the last tour we continued to record our album and we tried to hold the band together. But it turns out that during this time he registered the trademark ‘Red Guitars’ in his own name – so the four of us have to deal with that now.

We’re sorry that we have to go underground for the time being while we deal with the issues and try to protect our legacy. But we are not going to let anyone or anything spoil the music. We’re writing, recording and having a great time together. And we look forward to coming back, maybe with a new name depending on the outcome, but definitely with new songs, as soon as we can.

In the meantime you can download the first of our brand new recordings ‘Ho Ho Hum’ here: https://tempband.bandcamp.com/track/ho-ho-hum

Very best wishes,

Hal, John, Matt and Lou

“I’m still buzzing from seeing Red Guitars in Birmingham on Thursday. So uplifting. Red Guitars gigs should be available on prescription. They convey such joy and exuberance. And the feeling is slow to fade. Catch these guys whenever you can. “Strike a chord in the coldest heart / Marimba jive – jive and survive!”” Tony Gillam

“Shuffled my day round to see Red Guitars at O2Academy Birmingham – one of my better decisions! Didn’t see them live first time round, so have waited 40 odd years to see these songs live! And they played Marimba Jive! Whole band was awesome.” Mike Resound

“Birmingham, reminded me of my 80s childhood, but seeing them perform tonight made me realise how well they have crafted their skill, amazing live performance. Great band, world class bass player.” Edward Orange
