Jordi Savall Trio

FOLIOS & CANARIOS – TRINITY COLLEGE CHAPEL, CAMBRIDGE

We were very lucky to be able to get tickets for this incredibly special and moving concert as part of the Cambridge Music Festival. Folios and Canarios is Lou’s favourite programme of Jordi’s music – and there are many.

This was the fourth time that we’d seen Jordi Savall, both with Hesperion XXI and solo, but the first time with a trio – Jordi being accompanied by Xavier Diaz-Latorre on theorbo and guitar, and David Mayoral on percussion.

The standing ovation as the trio took the long walk to the alter and stage after the introduction by festival director Justin Lee, was truly heartwaming. The programme – diverting into impromptu pieces and improvisation – was spellbinding.

Here’s a gallery of photographs from the evening’s performance. Below the gallery are links to previous perfomances and galleries from concerts in York and Salisbury.

And if you’d like to, we’d be pleased if you’d subscribe to our blog, it’s free and you can do so by entering your email here:
